The SolarSinter is a light-powered 3D printer that uses solar radiation to produce simple products such as tiles and bowls from sand. 28-year-old Royal College of Art design student Markus Kayser took the Solar-Sinter to the Siwa Oasis in Egypt. In this experiment sunlight and sand are used as raw energy and material to produce glass objects using a 3D printing process, that combines natural energy and material with high-tech production technology.
