The Affinity Collection by Ben Alun-Jones, explores how we perceive and therefore change the objects around us. With
no-one around, the pieces merge into the background, becoming ‘invisible’.
However, in your presence they appear, blurring their geometries, revealing the
interior of the piece. The viewer can never be sure of the true form of the
objects. The convergent reflections focus inwards to create an uncertain
impression of depth; continuously changing as you influence them.
They explore a future in which technology is increasingly invisible.
Ben is currently enrolled on the Innovation Design Engineering course at the Royal College of Art. The Affinity Collection will be part of the Paradise exhibition, curated by the Royal College of Art at Ventura Lambrate, 17 - 19 April 2012.
